Banking firms accounted for over a third of the 2026 ranking as the combined value of the country’s top 50 brands climbed 11% to $35.3 billion.

Banks continue to dominate the country’s brand landscape, with BDO Unibank securing the top spot in Brand Finance’s latest ranking of the Philippines’ most valuable brands and leading a banking-heavy list that underscores the sector’s dominance in the country’s corporate landscape.

BDO retained its title for a third straight year with a brand value of $3.5 billion.

Global consultancy firm Brand Finance annually ranks countries’ 50 most valuable brands based on brand value, which takes into account revenues, assets, and consumer perception.

While BDO’s valuation slipped from $3.7 billion a year earlier, the firm said the bank continues to benefit from strong revenue growth.

“[BDO’s] performance is underpinned by strong loan growth and rising deposit volumes, which have supported higher net interest income, while diversified income streams from fees, wealth management, and insurance-related services have strengthened overall revenue resilience,” Brand Finance wrote.

Jollibee ranked second with a brand value of $3.3 billion, while Bank of the Philippine Islands placed third at $3.2 billion. Both companies maintained their positions from the previous year’s ranking.

The banking sector accounted for the largest share of the 2026 list at 37.1%, with institutions such as Landbank, Metrobank, UnionBank, Security Bank, Philippine National Bank, Chinabank, RCBC, EastWest Bank, and AUB making the cut.

Food and beverage companies formed the next-largest segment, led by San Miguel Corp., Puregold, and Jollibee Foods Corp.

Despite lower valuations for BDO and some other top-ranked companies, Brand Finance said the combined value of the Philippines’ 50 most valuable brands reached $35.3 billion in 2026, up 11% from the previous year.

The increase points to broader gains across industries, reflecting resilient domestic demand and sustained consumer spending despite global economic pressures.
