Yanson Group offers 10% fare cut as fuel costs stay elevated,
Commuters heading back to their home cities this Holy Week will get temporary relief from rising transport costs as the Yanson Group of Bus Companies rolls out a 10% fare discount across all passengers.
The discount will run from Good Friday to Easter Sunday, coinciding with peak return travel across Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, despite mounting fuel costs driven by the global oil crisis.
The bayanihan buffer
The initiative comes as transport operators face increasing pressure from higher diesel prices, which typically lead to fare hikes to offset operating costs. Instead of passing the burden on, the company said the discount is intended to support travelers during a period of heavy passenger movement and economic strain.
The Yanson Group, which operates over 5,000 units across multiple carriers, is among the country’s largest transport providers, making the move significant for intercity commuters.
Bus companies under its belt include Bachelor Express Inc., Ceres Transport Inc., Ceres Liner Travel and Tour, Countryside Food Resources Corp., Goldstar Bus Transit Inc., Mindanao Star Bus Transport Inc., Rural Transit (Mindanao) Inc., Southernstar Bus Transit Inc., and Vallacar Transit, Inc.
Traveling this Holy Week? The Yanson Group (Ceres, Bachelor, Rural Transit) has announced a 10% fare discount for all passengers from April 3–5, providing much-needed relief as diesel prices hit record highs.
