The Holy Week buffer: Toll-free Cavitex-C5 link aims to offset record fuel prices.

Just in time for the surge in traffic due to Holy Week, a new toll-free connector road opens, offering motorists some relief amid rising oil prices and growing travel demand.

To further sweeten the deal, the Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B will be free to use for the whole month of April.

The two-kilometer-long link is expected to cut travel time between Taguig and Parañaque from 1.5 hours to just 15 minutes, serving up to 36,000 vehicles a day and helping decongest surrounding roads.

The country relies heavily on imported fuel and remains vulnerable to global price swings, making infrastructure that improves traffic flow a key tool in reducing transport costs.

As fuel prices climb due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East, shorter travel times mean lower gasoline and diesel consumption, especially for daily commuters and delivery vehicles.
