“We didn’t start Charlie’s just to open another grooming shop,” shares owner Gold Aquino. “We started it because we wanted a place where pets are treated like family—where you can leave them without worry, and know they’re safe, clean, and cared for.”

“Grooming isn’t a luxury anymore. It’s part of your pet’s health,” Aquino explains. “We want to make sure more pet owners can actually afford to take care of their pets properly, hindi yung once in a while lang.”

This mindset extends to their pet hotel services, where overnight stays begin at ₱600. The goal is simple: offer reliable care when owners need it most—whether for travel, emergencies, or long work days.

Built by furparents, for furparents

Charlie’s strongest edge lies in empathy. The business is run by pet owners themselves, shaping decisions that prioritize comfort, safety, and transparency.

“We know the feeling of leaving your pet behind—it’s never easy,” Aquino says. “So we designed Charlie’s to feel like an extension of your home. Malinis, maayos, and calm environment, not stressful for them.”

This attention to detail shows in their approach: gentle handling during grooming, clean facilities, and a stress-free environment for both dogs and cats. Add-on services like de-matting and anal sac expression are also available, ensuring pets receive complete care in one visit.

Growing with purpose

As demand continues to rise, Charlie’s is preparing for its next chapter. The original Ermita branch is set for renovation by mid-year—part of a broader effort to elevate both space and service.

But even as the business grows, Aquino remains clear about what should never change.

“Expansion is important, but what matters more is consistency,” Aquino emphasizes. “Kahit dumami pa branches namin, the experience should feel the same—maalaga, maayos, at mapagkakatiwalaan.”
