Two heroes, two paths: Donny Pangilinan’s loyal Liam Roja and Kyle Echarri’s fiery Olsen Bonifacio collide in the world of “Roja.”
Inside the two forces of loyalty and fire in “Roja.”
In every fantasy tale, there comes a moment when the battlefield quiets just enough for a question to echo across the kingdom: who would you want beside you when the fight begins? The one who will guard the gates until the end, or the one who charges forward with nothing to lose?
In the world of “Roja,” that question takes the shape of two men who could not be more different—and yet somehow feel destined to meet in the same arena. On one side stands Liam Roja, portrayed by Donny Pangilinan, a dreamer forged in loyalty and intellect. On the other is Olsen Bonifacio, played by Kyle Echarri, a fighter sharpened by survival and fierce devotion.
Both men can stand as your knight in shining armor. But the real question is: which kind of knight do you trust when the battle begins?
Liam Roja: The knight who stands with you until the end
Every kingdom has a nobleman—the one who carries both the privilege of power and the burden of protecting those around him. Liam Roja is that figure.
Described by veteran actor Joel Torre as a wealthy chef with discipline and composure, Liam enters the story with the quiet confidence of someone raised in comfort but determined to prove his own worth. Yet beneath the polished exterior lies a mind that netizens quickly recognized as sharp and strategic: matalino, madiskarte.

As an ally, Liam is the kind of companion who never abandons the battlefield. Donny himself describes his character simply: someone who will stand by you “hanggang dulo.” But loyalty has its limits. When pushed, Liam can become the kind of adversary no one wants to face. Donny has said that if someone threatens the people around him, the response becomes instinctive—fight back. “Kapag may threat na ‘yong mga tao sa paligid ko, masamang kaaway ako,” he admits.
Off screen, the same protective instinct defines Donny’s real-life pursuits. The actor has long been vocal about social issues, lending his voice to advocacy efforts and outreach programs. For over a decade, he has supported anti–human trafficking initiatives through the organization Called to Rescue. He also launched the Donato Cup, a project supporting Moved Philippines.
If Liam Roja is a knight of loyalty in fiction, Donny seems to carry a similar sense of duty in the real world.
Olsen Bonifacio: The warrior forged by fire
If Liam represents the knight raised inside castle walls, Olsen Bonifacio is the warrior who learned to fight outside them.
Olsen, played by Kyle, carries the intensity of someone who has lived through struggle. His motivations are simple but powerful: gratitude, survival, and the fierce determination to move forward even when the odds say otherwise. As Olsen himself declares, he will do whatever it takes to rise—even if it means pushing forward “kahit walang pera.”

He is fearless, fiercely loyal, and sometimes dangerously emotional. There is a streak of jealousy, a stubborn protectiveness, and the kind of instinct that makes him both a formidable ally and an unpredictable rival. In a fantasy story, Olsen would be the knight who charges into battle first—unafraid of the bruises that come after
Kyle’s life beyond the screen adds deeper weight to the character’s emotional gravity. The actor has dedicated much of his advocacy work to children battling chronic illnesses, personally visiting young patients and supporting families navigating difficult diagnoses. His commitment is deeply personal; after losing his sister to cancer, Kyle turned grief into purpose by using his platform to amplify the voices of children facing similar battles.
He is also a supporter of the teachers’ initiative Gabay Guro, showing how his off-screen work reflects the same heart-driven resilience his character embodies.
Heroes who lead with strategy, with instinct
In the mythology of every great story, there are heroes who lead with strategy and heroes who lead with instinct. Liam Roja stands as the composed dreamer—wealthy, intelligent, and unwavering in loyalty. Olsen Bonifacio is the fearless warrior—shaped by hardship, driven by gratitude, and unafraid to fight for every inch of ground he claims.
Both are protectors. Both can become formidable enemies. And both, in their own way, embody what it means to step forward when a battle calls.
So when the dust rises and the question returns—who will be your knight in shining armor?
Well… maybe the smartest move is not choosing at all.
Or maybe let’s just invite them both to be a tandem for higher perks.
“Roja” also features Maymay Entrata, Yassi Pressman, Lorna Tolentino, Janice de Belen, Raymond Bagatsing, Kai Montinola, and Lou Yanong, among others. Now down to its final stretch, the action-drama series airs on iWantTFC, Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and ALLTV. The finale episode is now streaming on Netflix, where episodes are released 72 hours ahead of their television broadcast.
