From “Conga” to “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” the show brings Estefan’s iconic hits to life.
The rhythms are getting real—and a whole lot hotter in Manila.
Cuban-American actor Jason Canela is officially joining the cast of “On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan,” taking on the role of music producer and industry powerhouse Emilio Estefan for the Manila run.
The high-energy jukebox musical opens on July 10 at The Proscenium Theatre in Rockwell Center, Makati—and yes, it’s bringing serious Latin fire to the stage.
Jason’s casting adds an extra layer of authenticity to the production, as he reprises the role of Emilio Estefan, the man behind some of the most iconic Latin pop sounds in music history.
From “Conga” to “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” the show celebrates the life, music, and partnership of Emilio and Gloria Estefan—powered by a soundtrack that defined generations.
With Jason stepping into the role, expect a more grounded, culturally rooted take on the legendary hitmaker, alongside the rest of the Manila cast bringing the music to life night after night.
Directed by Robbie Guevara, with a book by Alexander Dinelaris Jr., “On Your Feet!” promises a full-on celebration of rhythm, resilience, and show-stopping energy.
