The Garden of Eden Restored in Tamayong is reportedly owned by Apollo Quiboloy.
Davao City has a garden that could easily be mistaken for a European retreat—complete with colorful houses and a serene mountain setting.
The Garden of Eden Restored, also known as Tamayong Prayer Mountain, recently caught the attention of Daily Davao, a Facebook page sharing tourism updates and travel discoveries in Davao City and nearby regions.
Located in the foothills of Mount Apo, the sanctuary sits amid lush greenery and cool mountain air, less than 50 kilometers northwest of Davao City.
Its European-inspired look comes through in its colorful Millennial Houses—painted yellow, blue and pink—alongside carefully maintained gardens and scenic pathways. Man-made waterfalls add to the tranquil setting.
Beyond its picturesque scenery, the sanctuary has a distinctly spiritual atmosphere that invites visitors to slow down, pray, or simply enjoy a moment of quiet.
However, the Garden of Eden Restored is currently closed to visitors, according to Davao Daily’s reply to a commenter.
The peaceful grounds also have a more complicated association: the property is reportedly owned by the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the religious group founded by Apollo Quiboloy.
Quiboloy is detained in the Philippines and faces charges, including qualified human trafficking and sexual abuse of minors. He has pleaded not guilty to the Philippine charges.
He has also been indicted in the United States on sex-trafficking and other charges.
The contrast between the sanctuary’s tranquil image and the serious allegations against its founder adds another dimension to a destination often presented as a place of prayer and reflection.
For visitors drawn by its gardens and European-style scenery, the site offers a striking landscape in Davao’s hinterlands—one whose religious identity is inseparable from the organization behind it.
