Escape into nature through Art Lozano’s stunning new forest-inspired exhibit

His works encourage audiences to engage with concerning environmental issues through a more critical and thoughtful lens.

Art lovers can immerse themselves in the beauty of nature through “Into The Woods,” the latest solo exhibition of acclaimed Filipino visual artist Arthur “Art” Lozano, now on view at Galerie Joaquin Opus in Quezon City.

Open until July 30, the exhibition features Lozano’s signature nature-inspired paintings that celebrate the richness of the natural world while carrying a timely message about environmental protection.

Galerie Joaquin describes Lozano as a “quiet environmentalist” who uses art as a powerful platform to advocate for the preservation of Mother Nature. Through his paintings, he hopes to inspire viewers not only to appreciate the earth’s pristine beauty but also to reflect on their responsibility in protecting it.

Hailing from the Ilocos region, Lozano is one of the country’s respected contemporary visual artists known for blending realistic landscapes with evocative imagery. His works encourage audiences to look beyond their aesthetic beauty and engage with pressing environmental issues through a more critical and thoughtful lens.

Lozano is also an active member of the Baguio Tam-awan Artist Group, a respected collective of Northern Luzon artists dedicated to promoting indigenous culture and regional art.

Over the course of his career, he has received recognition from some of the Philippines’ most prestigious art competitions, including the Art Association of the Philippines (AAP) Annual Art Competition, the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) National Competition, the GSIS Art Awards, and the Philip Morris Art Awards.
