Have a two-hour layover in Cebu? Take a chance at bringing home a Japanese-inspired souvenir while you wait!

As the second largest airport in the Philippines, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport services a staggering number of international and local flights. Layovers are very common, hence the continuing number of constructions and additions to its terminal landscape.

Among these new additions is a spot for those who love Japanese culture: pitting your luck against the roll of the gashapon machine. A staple in Japan, the gacha machine is a favorite pastime, whether going home from work or, in this case, whiling the hours away until your next boarding.

Gashapon Bandai, Official Philippines, has officially landed at Terminal 1— South Wing Departure. The store features rows upon rows of the latest gacha toys and merchandise from Japan. Most of the selections are a mix of anime and other fandom merchandise—a lot of which can also be seen across the side streets of Japan. You can satisfy your gacha addiction without leaving the country.

As with other branches of Gashapon Bandai, you will need to get tokens to operate the machine. Note that the store closes at midnight, so make sure to get your fix before then.

Whether you’re looking for the latest mecha piece for your collection, an anime figure for your shrine, or a Pokemon keychain for your anik-anik stash, this kiosk is definitely a fun way to while away the waiting time.
