Funds to support capex, debt refinancing, and general corporate needs amid ongoing network expansion and digital infrastructure investments.

Globe Telecom closes ₱5-billion term loan with BDO Unibank.

Globe Telecom, Inc. has secured a ₱5-billion term loan facility from BDO Unibank, Inc., which will be used to partially fund capital expenditures, support debt refinancing, and cover general corporate requirements.

In a disclosure filed with the Philippine Stock Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said the financing forms part of its ongoing funding and liquidity management efforts.

The financing comes as Globe continues to sustain its investment program for network expansion and digital infrastructure upgrades. The company has set its full-year 2026 cash capital expenditure guidance at below US$1 billion (approximately ₱55–₱58 billion), reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen and future-proof its network amid rising demand for data and digital services.

For the first quarter of 2026, Globe reported ₱12.7 billion in capital expenditures, up 51% year-on-year. The increase was driven by continued investments in network expansion and capacity enhancements. Capex accounted for 30% of service revenues during the period, supporting improved free cash flow while maintaining what the company described as a prudent balance sheet.

About 91% of cash capex during the quarter was allocated to data-related initiatives, focused on expanding digital capacity and improving network quality across the country.

Globe said the sustained investments are aimed at strengthening its digital infrastructure to support growing connectivity needs among consumers, households, and businesses.
