QART says it does not condone animal cruelty after a viral video allegedly showed three kittens being shot with an airsoft gun.
An airsoft gaming group in Quezon denounced the actions of its former member, a student accused of shooting three kittens to death in a viral video.
The Quezon Airsoft Raiders Team (QART) named the suspect in the animal cruelty incident as John Lloyd Tapay. In a statement on September 23, the group clarified that Tapay had not been a member since February 2026, amid netizens blaming the team for his actions.
“Mr. John Lloyd Tapay has not been a member of the Quezon Airsoft Raiders Team since February 2026 and is no longer affiliated with our group. Any actions or incidents involving him after his separation from the team should not be attributed to QART or its members,” the statement read.
The group also discouraged the public from sharing photos of Tapay with QART members to avoid confusion over his affiliation with the group.
“We would like to make it clear that QART does not tolerate, condone, or support any form of cruelty, whether towards animals or human beings,” the group said.
Tapay, identified as a student of Laguna State Polytechnic University’s San Pablo City Campus, was alleged to have killed three kittens using an airsoft gun in Tiaong, Quezon.
A video circulating online shows an injured kitten crawling underneath a car as rapid airsoft gunshots are heard. A voice in the background can also be heard saying, “One down!” followed by laughter. The video ends with a garbage bag containing dead and bloodied kittens.
LSPU and the Tiaong, Quezon government have yet to comment on the incident.
