From Magpet, Cotabato, to viral fame, Elias J turns his roots into rhythm. Discover how the young performer rose from rubber tapping to national and international stages.
Long before fans cheered his name, Elias Lintucan Jr., now known as Elias J, was performing, just not on a stage. In Magpet, Cotabato, his mornings began before sunrise, helping his father tap rubber trees before heading to school.
Today, the 25-year-old has turned those early lessons into a fast-rising entertainment career that’s taking him from provincial life to national stages, with international shows on the horizon.
The signature sound: rubber tapping meets reggae
What sets Elias apart is authenticity. His viral dance moves were inspired by the motions of rubber tapping—one hand steady, the other slicing downward—blended with laid-back vocals and self-taught guitar skills.
His music, a mix of reggae and street-style percussion, reflects his roots and resonates with fans far beyond Cotabato.
From viral snippets to global stages
Elias’ rise started online, sharing snippets of daily life on Facebook and YouTube. The response was instant, turning casual uploads into packed shows across the Philippines and now invitations from the United States and Canada.
Behind him is the Elias J TV Band, mostly longtime friends from Cotabato, united by one goal: to bring joy wherever they perform.
Identity and legacy
Fame was never the end goal. Elias hopes to inspire young people, especially from indigenous communities, to take pride in their roots. His journey could have gone a different way. He studied Criminology and once dreamed of becoming a seaman but destiny guided him to the stage, and he hasn’t looked back.
Offstage, Elias is a devoted partner to Abigail Cariquitan and father to their four-year-old son, Apollo. He recently brought his mother home from Bahrain, reuniting his family in Magpet, a personal triumph he cherishes most.
For young dreamers, his advice is simple: stay humble, respect others, and follow your heart. As for his own future, Elias J seeks a life of balance, a career he loves, a happy family, and a peaceful home, carrying his roots with him wherever the rhythm leads.
