The government app offers motorists a way to check No Contact Apprehension Policy violations amid scam texts.

With the increasing number of scam messages posing as legitimate No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) notices, motorists can instead verify and settle road violations through the government’s eGov app.

The feature has been available on the Philippine government service app since July 9. But with the influx of scam texts posing as legitimate NCAP violation messages, Akbayan Partylist Rep. Chel Diokno reminded the public of the feature.

The integration into eGov is meant to be a convenient way to both view and settle violations. The app claims to display violations in real time as they’re noted by the MMDA, giving motorists a way to check their records without second-guessing whether a text message is legitimate.

To avail of the feature, users only need to create an account or log in to eGov, search “MMDA NCAP” through the search bar or under the “Government Agencies” tab, and register their vehicle.

Users can view NCAP violations for multiple vehicles by inputting the plate number, motor vehicle registration number, and make and model. The vehicles must have already been registered with the Land Transportation Office.

NCAP violations can also be settled through the app. Users can opt to pay for either individual violations or all outstanding fines in a single transaction. Available payment methods include e-wallets, online banking, and debit and credit cards.
