Jollibee partnership covers 16 stores across multiple quick-service brands.

Finding formal employment can be a challenge for many senior citizens and persons with disabilities, even when they remain willing and able to work. In Taguig City, dozens of new opportunities are set to open through an expanded program that places seniors and PWDs in customer-facing roles across major quick-service restaurant branches.

The Jollibee Group is bringing its inclusive jobs program to 16 company-owned stores in Taguig across Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King through a partnership with the city government. Each participating branch will engage two senior citizens and one PWD in roles such as guest relations staff, table managers, drink drawers, and order presenters.

The city government will help screen applicants, conduct medical examinations, and provide training support, while the company will handle hiring, orientation, and onboarding.

Since launching the initiative in 2019, the Jollibee Group has provided employment opportunities to more than 1,000 senior citizens and PWDs through participating stores and local government partnerships nationwide.

The expansion comes as more Filipinos continue working beyond traditional retirement age, whether to supplement household income, stay socially engaged, or maintain a sense of independence. For persons with disabilities, meanwhile, finding formal employment remains difficult despite growing calls for more inclusive workplaces.

Programs like these can also invite debate over whether older Filipinos should still need to work in their later years. However, the initiative is designed for senior citizens and PWDs who remain capable, willing, and interested in employment, offering an option rather than an obligation. In Taguig, that option will soon be available in more stores across the city.
