As netizens predict a future leading man in Lucho Agoncillo, his mom, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, explains why education—and choice—come first.

In an era where celebrity kids effortlessly capture public attention, Lucho Agoncillo, the son of actress Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and TV host Ryan Agoncillo, once again became a hot topic online.

Ryan recently shared a series of Lucho’s photos on Instagram, instantly drawing admiration from netizens. Many couldn’t help but point out his “matinee idol” physique, with some already predicting a future leading man in the making.

Lucho Agoncillo’s stand on entering showbiz

Despite the growing buzz, Judy Ann has long been candid about her son’s lack of interest in showbiz, as revealed in one of our past interviews with the award-winning actress.

“Si Lucho kasi very sports-minded. Hindi siya mahilig sa industriya; hindi rin niya type ang mga girls na ma-makeup,” Judy Ann shared in our interview when asked about Lucho’s possible interest in entering the entertainment industry and his crushes.

Judy Ann and Ryan’s approach to endorsements

The actress also opened up about how she and Ryan guide their children when it comes to endorsements, emphasizing choice and independence.

“Ang training namin sa mga kumukuhang endorsement sa kanila, ‘You have to try it first.’ From Day One, may choice sila sa mga ginagawa nila, and dapat gusto nila ang produkto,” she explained.

For Judy Ann, it’s still too early for her children to make life-altering decisions, including joining showbiz. Sa ngayon, wala siyang interest,” she quipped.

Prioritizing education over fame

Still, the actress remains open with one non-negotiable condition.

She further revealed why education is something she and Ryan strongly prioritize for their children.

While netizens may already see a future star in Lucho, Judy Ann remains grounded, letting her children grow, explore, and decide their own paths when the time is right.
