Jerald Napoles, Pepe Herrera face off in wild food showdown comedy

Fan-favorite duo reunites in “Ang Pinakamasarap na Pares sa Balat ng Lupa” for outrageous food showdown with ₱50,000 at stake, opening in cinemas August 20.

Comedy favorites Jerald Napoles and Pepe Herrera are teaming up once again, this time for the upcoming Viva Films comedy “Ang Pinakamasarap na Pares sa Balat ng Lupa.”

Directed by Raynier F. Brizuela, the film marks another collaboration between the two actors, who have built a loyal following through their signature comedic chemistry.

Before this, Napoles and Herrera starred together in the 2018 cult favorite “Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap,” directed by Marius Talampas. The acclaimed heist comedy earned Talampas the “Young Critics Circle’s Best First Feature” award and a FAMAS nomination for “Best Original Screenplay,” eventually becoming a modern Filipino cult classic. They later reunited in the 2025 dark comedy “Sampung Utos Kay Josh.”

This time, the duo faces off in a high-stakes food challenge, with the film’s trailer teasing its central hook: “For ₱50,000… kaninong bituka ang unang puputok?” The outrageous eating showdown sets the stage for a comedy packed with absurd humor, rivalry, and stomach-bursting stakes.

“Ang Pinakamasarap na Pares sa Balat ng Lupa” opens in cinemas on August 20, bringing Jerald and Pepe’s fan-favorite tandem back to the big screen once again.
