Dyogi cites global economic pressures behind postponement.
Star Magic executive Lauren Dyogi has broken his silence on the postponement of the European leg of BINI’s “Signals” world tour, saying the move came after months of discussions and was “ultimately driven by economic realities beyond the team’s control.”
Speaking during a livestream on Thursday, Dyogi apologized to fans, particularly European Blooms, who had already purchased tickets, booked flights, and made travel arrangements for the concerts.
“It was not an easy decision,” Dyogi said. “It was a joint decision with our agent, the team, the different promoters, and ABS-CBN management.”
According to Dyogi, the European leg had been in the works since last year following BINI’s successful international activities, including their historic Coachella performance. However, he said “global events, including the prolonged war in the Middle East, significantly affected the viability of staging the shows.”
He explained that the conflict led to higher oil prices, inflation, and increased production costs worldwide, making it more expensive to mount an international tour. The same geopolitical situation also forced the cancellation of the group’s planned Middle East stops.
Dyogi said the team initially wanted to push through with the European concerts but eventually concluded, together with local promoters, that postponing them was the most practical option.
“There are a lot of factors beyond our control and bigger than us that affected the viability of pushing through with the concert in Europe,” he said.
He also addressed confusion surrounding the terms “postponed” and “cancelled,” explaining that while the team intends to return to Europe in the future, the current dates had to be cancelled to allow ticket holders to receive refunds. Refund procedures, he added, vary by territory and ticketing platform.
Acknowledging fans’ disappointment, Dyogi said the criticism directed at management was understandable.
“You have every right to get disappointed, you have every right to get upset,” he told fans. “We value your effort, we value your feedback. Kahit masakit ang feedback, naiintindihan namin ang frustration at disappointment.”
The statement comes after days of criticism over how the postponement was announced, sparking discussions online about transparency and artist management. It also follows an apology from Cosmopolitan Philippines, which acknowledged inaccuracies in its report on the reason behind the European tour postponement.
