A leading HIV advocacy group is urging clients not to panic amid concerns over antiretroviral (ARV) medicine supplies, assuring that treatment remains available while it implements temporary measures to stretch its remaining stocks.
In an advisory posted Friday, LoveYourself emphasized, “Treatment is available,” assuring clients that “we still have ARV supplies available.”
The organization said it has temporarily reduced the quantity of medicines dispensed per refill “to help stretch the stocks that LoveYourself has procured,” while also assisting clients from other treatment hubs that “have no more supplies.”
LoveYourself explained that the move is intended to ensure it can continue serving patients “until the next supply from DOH arrives.”
Calling the measure proactive rather than a cause for alarm, the organization said it is meant to ensure “uninterrupted access to treatment for all clients.”
In a separate Filipino advisory, LoveYourself said it is currently distributing buffer stocks that it procured during the previous quarter while waiting for medicines being procured by the Department of Health.
To make the limited supply last, clients only need to visit their hub once for a refill and provide their complete address and contact details.
After the initial visit, clients will no longer need to return for succeeding refills while supplies remain limited. Instead, LoveYourself said the next batch of medicines will be delivered free of charge before a patient’s supply runs out.
“Habang hindi pa steady ang supply, ito muna ang ating setup upang matiyak na tuloy-tuloy ang inyong treatment at mabawasan ang abala sa pagpunta sa hub,” the organization said.
LoveYourself thanked its clients for their understanding and cooperation as it continues to manage its available supplies responsibly while awaiting the next DOH shipment.
