The operator was also ordered to explain the incident as buses are pulled from service pending investigation.

Victory Liner is facing a 30-day suspension on several routes after the LTFRB ordered sanctions in connection with the road crash in Tuba, Benguet over the weekend that left more than 90 people injured.

The transport regulator also suspended the operation of 26 buses and directed the company to explain why its franchise should not be suspended or revoked as authorities continue their investigation into the incident.

Based on an initial police investigation, a Victory Liner bus bound for La Union was reportedly trailing an SUV while navigating an uphill section of the road when it experienced mechanical problems. The bus allegedly collided with another Victory Liner bus traveling in the opposite direction and the SUV before crashing into a concrete barrier and overturning.

The suspension is expected to affect key provincial routes, including Dagupan-Baguio, PITX-Tuguegarao, and Sta. Cruz, Zambales-Baguio, placing pressure on one of the country’s largest bus operators as thousands of commuters rely on these daily connections for work, school, and travel.

In a statement, Victory Liner said it respects the LTFRB’s decision and is cooperating with authorities. The company apologized for the inconvenience and expressed sympathy for the victims and their families and said it is submitting all required documents as the investigation continues.
