Marina Summers slams toxic fan ‘shipping’, says it isn’t real support in “Drag Race PH” fandom discourse.

“Drag Race PH” superstar and recording artist Marina Summers is setting the record straight, taking to social media to address a growing issue within the drag community: the rampant and often intrusive “shipping” of drag queens by fans.

“If you feel like you are offended, then maybe you are supporting me not because of my drag, not because of my talent, not because of the work that I do, but maybe because of your own fantasies lang,” Summers declared.

While she made no specific mention, fans well-versed the drag community have previously shipped Summers with “Drag Race PH” S1 queen Minty Fresh, dubbing the pairing Mintyrina—a portmanteau of their names.

Fans expressing concerns about “Drag Race PH” S3 winner Maxie Andreison and fellow drag performer Khianna likewise arose following heated Tweet responses uploaded on X (formerly Twitter) back in early June.

Summers firmly concluded her message by stating, “And that’s not healthy. You cannot support me or a colleague of mine just because of your fantasy. It doesn’t work that way. Tama? Tama, mali?”
