Nadine Lustre open to lifelong singlehood if she and BF split

Nadine Lustre says she’s ready for lifelong singlehood if relationship with Christophe Bariou ends.

Actress #NadineLustre said she is happy with her current relationship with Filipino-French boyfriend #ChristopheBariou and admitted that if things between them do not work out, she is ready to embrace a single life.

“It’s not possible naman, but I’m very happy with where I’m at. Eto talaga, itatak n’yo sa bato, if Chris and I break up, ayoko nang magjowa,” she declared in an interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila.

“Pagod na ako. But really, I told myself that. If this is not the last relationship that I will have, I’m probably going to be single for the rest of my life,” Nadine added.

The actress was also asked if she could still fall in love with an on-screen partner again, a question that brought up memories of her past relationships.

“Wag na! Alam mo naman ‘yan, nangyari na ‘yan! Wag na nating ulitin,” said Nadine, referring to her highly publicized romance with loveteam partner James Reid that ended in November 2019.

In a previous interview, the actress also reflected on how her views on marriage and starting a family have changed over the years. While she once imagined settling down in her early 20s, she realized she still wants to enjoy life and continue growing.

“In my teen years, sabi ko kapag 20 ako, ikakasal na ako, magkakaroon na ako ng family. Pero noong nag-20 ako, parang ‘No, hindi pa.’ Noong nag-25 ako, baka iyon na ‘yon, pero noong nag-30 ako, hindi pa rin. Nag-e-enjoy pa rin ako,” she previously shared.

For Nadine, her relationship with Christophe is built on love, independence, and personal growth. She explained that they continue improving themselves while building a future together.

“Kami kasi, we are both focused on working on ourselves. Nag-gro-grow kami separately and we are growing together kasi may businesses kami together, and marami pa kaming gustong marating,” she said.

Nadine and Christophe confirmed their relationship in 2022 after meeting in Siargao a year earlier through a gathering with friends. They made their first public appearance as a couple at the Vogue Philippines anniversary gala in August 2023.

While keeping their romance private, the couple continues to grow together through their businesses, including Dehusk and Maison Bukana Wines. Bariou also manages several ventures in Siargao, including a resort and a plant-based restaurant.
