Newlywed Bea Alonzo says she’s in her ‘happiness’ chapter

“But I’ve always enjoyed dressing up and I’ve always enjoyed beautiful things. So this is very special,” she said in an interview for Tatler on Friday night.

For Alonzo, however, her evolving style is about more than clothes. It reflects the person she has become along the way.

“It’s definitely specific chapters in your life,” she said when asked what has influenced her style through the years.

“Because for me, style is something that evolves with you naturally. And my style and the way I dress definitely changed through the years.”

She said she has reached a point where she knows herself better, which has given her the confidence to make fashion choices based on what she genuinely likes.

“I feel like these days, I know myself better and I have the confidence to choose what I like. And I’m more open to trying new things,” she said.

“And I feel like that’s what fashion is about. It’s supposed to be fun. It has to feel like you’re still in different chapters of your life.”

When asked if she feels like she is having fun in her current chapter, Alonzo had a one-word answer.

“Yes. This chapter is ‘happiness’ for me. Happiness.”

Her fashion inspirations, meanwhile, are not limited to a particular person or designer. Alonzo said she draws inspiration from movies, mood boards, people and even local artists.

“It can also be people, like Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy or Grace Kelly, even local artists,” she cited.

That openness to different influences appears to mirror her approach to fashion now: less about following a formula and more about knowing what feels right for her.

“It’s supposed to be fun,” she said of fashion.
