Veteran actor Nonie Buencamino is making his highly anticipated return to musical theater through Repertory Philippines’ upcoming production of “Man of La Mancha.”
Fresh from winning the 2025 Gawad Buhay Best Actor in a Play award, Buencamino takes on the iconic dual role of Alonso Quijano and Don Quixote in the beloved musical set for a limited run from June 5 to 28 at the REP Eastwood Theater.
Known for his versatility across film, television, and stage, Buencamino’s comeback to musicals marks a major highlight in REP’s 2026 theater season. The production will be directed by Nelsito Gomez, whose modern and relevant interpretations of literary classics have earned praise from theater audiences.
The musical follows Don Quixote’s journey to restore justice, honor, and beauty in a world consumed by cynicism—a timeless story expected to resonate strongly with today’s generation.
