LenderLink takes ‘Startup of the Year’ honors at KMC Startup Awards 2025
Philippine startups are proving they can lead industries and set new standards. From tackling complex business problems to introducing innovative solutions, they are reshaping markets and showing that ambition paired with execution can deliver real results.
Despite challenges like limited infrastructure, fragmented markets, and constrained access to capital, the ecosystem has steadily grown. Startups are using technology to solve real business problems—from streamlining access to finance for SMEs to improving learning opportunities and building sustainable products.
Investors are taking notice, and these companies are no longer on the sidelines. Today, they are shaping markets, influencing consumer behavior, and redefining how business is done.
A platform for recognizing progress
The KMC Startup Awards has become a key platform for recognizing this progress. Now in its third year, the awards honor companies that combine creativity, perseverance, and measurable impact to drive their industries forward.
“Meaningful solutions can start anywhere. Progress comes from having the courage to create what has never existed before. The startups recognized tonight show that ambition, paired with execution, can transform industries,” said Michael McCullough, co-founder and managing director of KMC Solutions.
Solving real business problems
The 2025 awards featured eight categories covering the key areas that define a startup’s success, from scaling operations and leveraging technology to serving customers and driving social impact. Among these, the Startup of the Year award stood out as the evening’s highlight. Gold went to fintech startup LenderLink.
LenderLink aggregates real-time borrowing information from digital lenders and financial institutions, helping small and medium-sized enterprises access business financing quickly and transparently. Its platform aims to empower Filipino entrepreneurs to grow confidently and compete beyond local markets.
CEO and founder Christo Georgiev told radar Business what drives the company’s growth: “Our focus is on building the best possible product for our customers. Growth and recognition follow when you get that right. Innovation isn’t just about technology, it’s about solving real business problems and creating impact.”
He added that the award represents both recognition and momentum. “Being named Startup of the Year reflects our team’s dedication to helping Filipino entrepreneurs succeed. It shows that local startups can grow regionally while addressing real needs at home.”
Innovating without limits
The awards also highlighted the value of sharing knowledge and support among startups. McCullough observed that the event extends beyond mere recognition. “The awards celebrate achievements, but they also help startups connect, learn from each other, and find opportunities to work together.”
In a competitive market with limited resources, this kind of environment is crucial. The awards, by highlighting high-impact companies like LenderLink, serve as role models for emerging founders, identify market opportunities for investors, and foster partnerships across various industries.
The event also showed a broader understanding of success. Beyond revenue and growth, categories such as Culture and Community Excellence honored companies integrating social responsibility, sustainability, and ethical practices into their operations. Philippine startups are increasingly demonstrating that business success can go hand in hand with positive social impact.
The KMC Startup Awards 2025 showed that the country’s startups are not only viable businesses but that they are, in fact, shaping the direction of Philippine business for the coming years. “Keep building, keep imagining, and continue to innovate without limits,” McCullough said. For LenderLink and the other awardees, it’s all about writing the next chapter of Philippine business, where local startups are leading the way.
Philippine startups are stepping up as leaders and the KMC Startup Awards 2025 highlights those who have taken risks, scaled their operations, and made tangible impacts on businesses and communities.
