Peso holds near ₱61.80
The Philippine peso weakened, losing nearly a centavo to close at ₱61.738 against the US dollar, giving up the slight recovery recorded in the previous trading session.
The local currency reached an intraday high of ₱61.79, unchanged from the previous session’s rate, keeping the peso near the ₱61.80 level amid continued pressure.
Tuesday’s session reflected renewed pressure across Philippine financial markets. The PSEi fell below 6,200 after briefly recovering above the level, while the peso remained near ₱61.80 with only a marginal decline against the US dollar.
