Student filmmakers Dizelle Masilungan and Lloyd Garciano bring festival experience to the Puregold Channel.

From campus film sets to professional content creation, two young filmmakers from the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival are now leading a new digital project—proof that the initiative is not just a showcase but a real pipeline for fresh industry talent.

Dizelle Masilungan and Lloyd Garciano, participants from the festival’s inaugural student shorts category, now head the creative team behind Puregold’s new BL series “Got My Eyes on You,” streaming on TikTok via the Puregold Channel.

Focused on nurturing emerging storytellers, Puregold CinePanalo provides production grants, mentorship, and real industry exposure through its student shorts program.

More room to share stories

Beyond awarding films, it continues to connect standout participants with professional opportunities. Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, Puregold senior marketing manager and CinePanalo festival chair, emphasized this mission. “Both Dizelle and Lloyd excelled in the first Puregold CinePanalo and now we’re eager to give them more room to share their stories with audiences via the Puregold Channel,” she said.

Masilungan earned Best Director for “Kung Nag-aatubili,” while Garciano worked as cinematographer for “Smokey Journey,” which received citations for ensemble acting and original score. They now reunite as director and director of photography for the new series.

The show mixes ambition, workplace pressure, and emotional vulnerability while staying within the light-romantic BL framework.

Turning creative passion to a viable career path

The production also reunites other CinePanalo alumni in post-production roles. Editor Jenievive B. Adame worked on “Smokey Journey,” while Anton Acosta, cinematographer for “Kung Nag-aatubili,” joins as editor, continuing their collaboration.

Both Masilungan and Garciano credit CinePanalo for opening real professional doors. “Thank you, CinePanalo, for believing in emerging Filipino storytellers and for giving us a platform to share our voices,” Masilungan said. Garciano added that the experience helped turn creative passion into a viable career path.
