The selection process began with 373 original submissions from established theater practitioners and emerging talents. Organizers narrowed the entries to a shortlist of 26 one-act plays, consisting of 16 straight plays and 10 musicals.

From this shortlist, 12 works were chosen for the festival lineup, with eight straight plays and four musicals making the final cut.

The selected playwrights will each receive ₱100,000 in financial compensation, along with development and production support from Wishbone Collective Inc.

At the end of the festival, one straight play and one musical will receive development grants to help transform their one-act works into full-length theatrical productions.
