Two emerging short films seek their path to the Puregold CinePanalo stage through a night of communal art and busking.

Independent film productions Klik and Bisperas Kolektib are teaming up for “Salubong!”, a special fundraiser screening that aims to support two short films selected for the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival 2026.

The event will take place on April 22, 2026 at Sine Pop in Cubao, gathering filmmakers, audiences, and supporters of independent cinema for a night of screenings and performances. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward the production and festival journey of the CinePanalo short films “When Heaven Inched Towards Earth” and “Nang Matakasan ang Tagay.”

Cinematic solidarity

The program will feature a curated lineup of Filipino short films from emerging filmmakers, including “Halikana” by Jamie Imperio, “Ang Halikan sa Water Fountain” by Clyde Gamale, “Cemento” by Justine Borlagdan, “Bahay, Baboy, Bagyo” by Miko Biong, and “Kinakausap ni Celso ang Diyos” by Gilb Baldoza. The screening highlights the diversity of voices and storytelling styles currently shaping the independent short film scene.

Ticket prices are set at ₱200 for regular registration and ₱250 with a busking pass, while walk-in tickets cost ₱250 or ₱300 with busking. The busking segment will feature live performances, adding a communal and celebratory atmosphere to the fundraiser.

The event is also organized by the same filmmaking collective behind Champ Green, produced by Klik, which won Best Film at the 2025 edition of the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival. With that momentum, the organizers hope “Salubong!” will rally support for a new wave of filmmakers continuing the tradition of bold and socially resonant Filipino storytelling.

“Salubong!” invites audiences, cinephiles, and supporters of independent cinema to gather, watch, and contribute to the next chapter of Filipino short filmmaking.
