“Wakas at Simula” drops worldwide on March 27.
SB19’s Josh said their newest album “Wakas at Simula” isn’t just a comeback but a declaration: Their group is ready to take P-pop to the global stage.
“It’s like a journey from the beginning of SB19. We’re preparing for this moment our entire lives,” Josh told select media, including radar, during a media conference on Monday, March 23.
Josh noted that SB19 has performed in several mall shows, concerts, stages, and festivals here and abroad for years, helping shape their confidence. “Through this album, siguro, masasabi namin ngayon na we’re not afraid of anything,” he added. “We’re confident when it comes to presenting the Filipino talent [worldwide].”
From their humble beginnings to becoming one of the country’s leading P-pop acts, SB19 has steadily expanded its reach beyond the Philippines. It’s set to perform on Lollapalooza Day 1 (July 30)—making history as the first Filipino act to become part of the international music festival.
Positioned as the “closure of one era” and the start of a new chapter, “Wakas at Simula” brings together the group’s EP trilogy—”Pagsibol,” “Pagtatag,” and “Simula at Wakas”—alongside six new tracks. The album also features collaborations with JOLIN (“Emoji”) and BE:FIRST (“Toyfriend”).
The album will be released globally on March 27, followed by a concert on April 18 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque.
From a historic Lollapalooza slot to their upcoming SMDC concert, Josh Cullen shares why the group is finally ready to take Filipino talent to the world stage.
