Shuvee Etrata and Sanya Lopez are bringing their star power to the pageant stage as they join the inaugural Queen of the Islands competition, which offers a whopping P25 million in prize money.
The two actresses are among the showbiz personalities included in the first batch of candidates introduced for the highly anticipated competition, putting them alongside established beauty queens and pageant veterans.
Pasarela coach Ian Mendajar recently shared a glimpse of some of the candidates preparing for the competition through social media, giving pageant fans an early look at the women gearing up for the historic first edition.
The 25 initial candidates include five former Miss Universe Philippines titleholders—Gazini Ganados, Ahtisa Manalo, MJ Lastimosa, Ariella Arida, and Michelle Dee.
Also joining the competition are Miss Earth Air 2023 and Miss Universe Philippines 2025 second runner-up Yllana Aduana, Miss Supranational third runner-up Tarah Valencia, and Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania 2024 Alethea Ambrosio.
Adding further star power to the roster are fellow celebrities Ashley Ortega and Faith da Silva.
For Shuvee and Sanya, the competition marks an opportunity to step outside their usual showbiz territory and take on the challenges of a beauty pageant.
Shuvee, known for her work in television, will be competing against candidates with extensive pageant backgrounds, while Sanya brings her years of experience in the entertainment industry to the competition.
Their inclusion adds an interesting entertainment angle to a roster already packed with accomplished beauty queens.
With P25 million at stake, the inaugural Queen of the Islands is shaping up to be a major new addition to the Philippine pageant scene.
Further details about the competition format, activities, and coronation have yet to be announced as of writing.
