Partnership strengthens regional access to employment and training through malls and HR networks.
SM Supermalls and the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) are expanding their partnership to bring job fairs and upskilling programs closer to Filipinos nationwide following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at SM Supermalls Headquarters in Pasay City.
Agreement inclusions

The agreement builds on earlier career fair collaborations and is designed to broaden access to employment opportunities while strengthening readiness for evolving workforce demands, particularly as industries continue to adopt digital tools and new working systems.
SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan and PMAP President Engelbert Camasura led the ceremonial signing, joined by executives and representatives from both organizations.
Tan said SM remains committed to “creating meaningful opportunities for Filipinos through partnerships that support employment, growth, and community development.”
At the center of the partnership is PMAP’s HumanITy mission, described as “a human-led, digitally enabled, and future-ready Philippines.” The initiative aligns with SM’s ongoing effort to position its malls as accessible spaces where job seekers and employers can directly connect, particularly in areas outside major business hubs.

The structural push for upskilling
Alongside hiring initiatives, the collaboration places stronger emphasis on career development and skills building, giving Filipinos additional support as the job market continues to evolve. SM noted that its job fairs serve a wide range of participants, including fresh graduates, first-time job seekers, career shifters, and experienced professionals exploring new opportunities.
With PMAP’s nationwide network of HR and people management professionals, the partnership is expected to expand regional career fair programs and bring employment access closer to local communities, while SM continues to integrate employment services, government support activities, and livelihood initiatives within its mall spaces.
Together, both organizations aim to strengthen pathways that connect talent with opportunity while supporting a workforce that is better prepared for changing industry demands across the country.
Finding a job is now closer to home. SM Supermalls and PMAP expand nationwide job fairs and digital upskilling networks.

Preparing for the job market
When attending an SM-PMAP job fair, don't just list past static job descriptions on your resume. Since PMAP’s current initiative focuses heavily on digital readiness, make sure to highlight your experience with digital platforms—whether those are project management software, data tools, or basic automated workflows. Most recruiters at these events are actively looking for candidates who can blend strong human soft skills with modern digital fluency.
Pre-register digitally. Avoid wasting hours filling out manual registration sheets at the mall gates. Look for official PMAP pre-registration links online before the event to secure an entry QR code. This code won't let you skip the lines at individual corporate booths once inside, but it will fast-track your check-in at the main entrance, allowing you to reach the employers quicker.
Treat the free upskilling seminars scattered around the SM event halls as a mandatory step, even if you think you have already polished your resume. Participating in these micro-credentials modules often grants you direct, face-to-face access to high-level PMAP HR directors who look past automated applicant tracking software (ATS) filters to spot raw, regional talent.
