Mallgoers face ongoing delays and connectivity issues despite recent updates to the cashless parking system.
Festival Mall is facing continued pushback over its new parking payment system, with mallgoers saying the experience inside the Alabang complex is still far from seamless despite recent updates.
On May 30, the mall said it has boosted WiFi coverage and added more QR codes across parking areas in an effort to speed up payments and reduce queuing time. It also announced additional priority lanes and seating for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
The changes come after Festival Mall rolled out its new parking payment system on April 6. Under the setup, customers are encouraged to pay online or scan QR codes to exit faster, with fewer payment counters now available as part of the shift toward a cashless process.
But for many visitors, the transition has not gone smoothly. Several mallgoers say connectivity remains a major issue inside the mall and around Alabang, Muntinlupa, where mobile signal is reportedly weak or inconsistent.
Some also pointed out a recurring technical problem even after the upgrades. The parking payment website, when accessed through mall WiFi, is reportedly being flagged as a “non-secure site,” creating delays at exit points and adding to congestion during peak hours.
These issues are still causing bottlenecks for exiting mallgoers, particularly during peak hours when traffic at the exits tends to build up quickly.
