With the final leg of the year approaching, it’s time to look at what you’re keeping and what you’re doing away with in life before 2025 ends—and that includes the stuff around your home.

Giving love doesn’t just have to be metaphorical. It can definitely be literal—by way of preloved items that may spark joy in someone else’s life.

If you’re looking to declutter with a cause, these three groups can help spread the love through donations in kind and give you more space for love this coming year.

Goodwill PH

Goodwill PH currently accepts all preloved items—from big furniture to your last batch of OOTDs. Their only ask: that clothes and furniture are not ruined and are still viable for selling or future donations.

As an organization, Goodwill PH collects items that can be resold so that funds can go to initiatives and developmental programs to help various groups. They also sometimes directly support donation initiatives, should opportunities arise.

Have something to give? Reach out to Goodwill PH and look for Ms. Raida Dao. She’s the head in charge and point person for collections. Depending on your location and the volume of donations, the group conducts pickups for your convenience.

Caritas Manila

Another long-standing institution that facilitates donations is Caritas Manila. Their Segunda Mana Program collects donations of different forms, from clothes to books to furniture and beyond.

Because Caritas Manila sells the donations via their Segunda Mana Charity Outlets to support groups like Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP) and Damayan Program, the items need to be in good and reusable condition.

Caritas Manila supports pickups in specific locations, so it’s best to coordinate with their staff. For those who are in the Manila area, drop-off or send-off via courier is also available at their office in Cartitas Manila, Pandacan. Their office is open every day from 8AM to 5PM.

Declutter Manila (the OG)

Haven’t done a complete spring cleaning yet? How about being part of an online community where you can post your items for anyone to get dibs on for free?

Declutter Manila is among the first decluttering groups online; with its now over 490,000 followers, it started with the goal to declutter and bless others.

As the page states, “What might be of no use to us may be a luxury or need for our brothers and sisters.”

All items posted are given for free, with arrangements made between the donor and the donee through their own discussions and own discretion. As a public page, anyone can put up their posts and respond in kind.
