She wants a docu on those allegedly luring celebrities.
Vice is weighing in, and she’s looking at the bigger picture.
Vice Ganda shared her thoughts on the circulation of intimate videos involving Filipino male celebrities allegedly being sold on Telegram, shifting the conversation beyond just the victims.
For Vice, there’s another layer worth examining: the women allegedly involved in luring them. “It’s like studying who they are, how they do it, what their reasons are, what their intentions are, what kind of life they have. I said, ‘it’s going to be an interesting documentary.’”
End the victim-blaming
Still, she made it clear that support for victims should come first. “There should be someone to help the victims, especially for artists. It has a negative effect on anyone,” she explained, noting how controversies like this can impact not just personal lives but also careers and livelihood. She was reacting to the news that the Film Academy of the Philippines has expressed its intention to provide legal help to those who were victimized.
Vice also pushed back against victim-blaming. “Yes, they should be careful. But you can’t blame the victim for what happened,” she said. “We can only say that this shouldn’t have happened to begin with, especially if they have a wife or if they have a partner. Who should we really blame? Ang mga nambiktima.”
At the same time, she acknowledged the public’s curiosity around personalities tied to controversial figures, pointing out how people often want to understand who these individuals are and how they operate. For her, that curiosity, when handled responsibly, can open the door to deeper conversations.
