Amid recent controversy, Zanjoe Marudo speaks up on respecting women, protecting his wife, and choosing meaningful roles in “A Silent Noise.”

For Zanjoe Marudo, there is no excuse to disrespect anyone, especially women.

Timely, too. March is National Women’s Month, and in light of the controversy involving Anne Curtis and lawmaker Bong Suntay’s offensive remarks toward the “It’s Showtime” host, the Kapamilya actor made his stance clear: no one has the right to disrespect others, regardless of status in life.

When asked how he would react if someone disrespected his wife, Ria Atayde, Zanjoe admitted it would depend on the situation.

Ria was present at “The Silent Noise” screening, where she praised both the script and Zanjoe’s performance.

The actor is grateful for having a supportive wife who continues to push him to grow.

Mas napapaganda mo, mas naggo-grow ka as an actor. Walang pigil, walang stress.”

Playing Anton Carpio, the patriarch of the Carpio family, Zanjoe admitted it was the character and material that convinced him to say “yes” to the series.

I would say “yes” on the spot kahit saan pa ‘yan. Ngayon, marami na akong kino-consider, like locations,” he explained.

Malaking tulong ito—not just for our careers—dahil mapapanood kami globally.”

Despite recently working with Angelica in “Unmarry,” Zanjoe shared that his role in “A Silent Noise” offers something new.

“Iba eh.

Asked if he’s open to working with Angelica again, Zanjoe didn’t hesitate.

“A Silent Noise” premiered on Prime Video on March 20 locally and in more than 240 countries worldwide. Produced by ABS-CBN Studios, the series also stars KD Omalin, Zaijian Jaranilla, Ralph Malibunas, Kakki Teodoro, Joel Saracho, Junjun Quintana, Karina Bautista, Tommy Alejandrino, Mutya Orquia, Joem Bascon, Monching Gutierrez, and features special participation from Mylene Dizon.
