Film, TV and drama firms seek licensing, distribution and co-production deals from Aug. 26 to 28.

Eighteen Thai companies from the film, drama, series, television programming and related service industries will visit Manila this month to explore trade opportunities and business partnerships in the Philippine market.

The content companies will take part in THAI CONTENT IN THE PHILIPPINES 2026, organized by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) from Aug. 26 to 28.

The initiative aims to connect Thai content businesses with Philippine companies for content licensing, distribution, co-production and other forms of business cooperation.

The growing popularity of Thai artists, actors and content among Filipino audiences also presents opportunities for Thai companies to reach wider audiences and establish partnerships here and across the ASEAN.

The 18 participating companies represent a range of businesses in film, drama series, television programs, and related services. DITP said the companies have strong track records, with work recognized in Thailand and international markets.

The three-day initiative will feature company visits, a business matching session and a networking dinner. From Aug. 26 to 27, Thai participants will visit Philippine companies and organizations involved in the content industry and distribution of Thai content. The visits are intended to provide market insights and identify potential business partnerships.

A full day of business matching will follow on Aug. 28 at New World Makati Hotel, where Thai companies will meet local importers, distributors, digital platforms and other prospective partners to discuss content licensing, business cooperation, trade and investment opportunities.

Department of International Trade Promotion director general Sunanta Kangvalkulkij

The program will conclude with a networking dinner talk on the evening of Aug. 28, bringing together Thai participants and Philippine entertainment industry stakeholders.

“The Department of International Trade Promotion is committed to continuously expanding opportunities for Thailand’s content industry in international markets,” DITP director general Sunanta Kangvalkulkij said.

She added that the initiative aims to strengthen business networks between Thai and Philippine companies and expand content licensing and co-production opportunities.

Sunanta said the program is part of its continuing efforts to help Thai businesses access regional and international markets, increase export value and support the growth of Thailand’s content industry.
