Matet claps back quietly.
Matet de Leon had plenty to say with just one photo.
The actress recently shared a snapshot with siblings Lotlot de Leon, Kiko, and Kenneth, taken during the latter’s wedding. All smiles, the group appeared carefree, celebrating both the occasion and their bond.
But it was Matet’s caption that drew attention:
“Post ko lang uli. Eto nga pala ang ngiti ng mga ampon na walang mana. Mukha ba kaming may pake?”
Her remark alluded to ongoing discussions surrounding the estate of their adoptive mother, Nora Aunor, a National Artist for Film and Broadcast. Reports indicate that their brother Ian de Leon, Nora’s son with Christopher de Leon, has been designated to oversee her estate and legacy through the Nora Aunor Enterprise and Nora Aunor Foundation.
The price of a legacy
The post quickly gained traction online, amassing thousands of reactions and comments. One follower summed up what many perceived as Matet’s message: “What Matet wants to point out is…kahit wala man silang makukuhang mana ay masaya pa din silang inampon ni Nora dahil nananatili ang respeto at pagmamahalan sa kanila. Sapat na iyon, at naipamana ni Ate Guy ang pagmamahal na tunay na kanyang taglay.”
Meanwhile, Lotlot clarified her position through a statement issued by her legal counsel, Atty. Mark Julius C. Estur. She stressed that she “was not in any way and in any capacity involved or consulted” in any initiatives tied to the estate or its management. The statement also said she was only informed of developments “at the very least,” and to her knowledge, there is no confirmed Last Will and Testament naming a sole administrator.
Lotlot further emphasized she has “stepped away completely” from estate matters as a conscious decision, opting not to take part in any discussions or involvement moving forward.
