Romulo Café has temporarily closed its Bonifacio Global City (BGC) branch following the fire that struck the One Bonifacio High Street complex earlier this week.

In an advisory posted on social media, the restaurant said it is conducting thorough safety checks before reopening.

“The safety of our guests and team is our top priority,” Romulo Café said, adding that updates on the resumption of operations will be announced through its official channels.

The closure follows a similar announcement from Filipino restaurant Lore, which is also located at One Bonifacio High Street. Earlier, owner and chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou said Lore would remain temporarily closed until the mall reopens to the public.

“It pains us to temporarily close Lore,” Sarthou wrote on Facebook, thanking customers for their patience and continued support.

According to the Taguig City government, the fire broke out in the building’s electrical room on May 27. Authorities said the cause of the incident remains under investigation.

Lore was among the restaurants recognized in the inaugural Philippine edition of the MICHELIN Guide, which praised Sarthou’s approach to Filipino cuisine as “traditional, yet thoughtfully reimagined.”

Both restaurants said they will provide updates once operations can safely resume.
