Fans clash online over what “genderless” really means as the rookie group challenges norms this Pride Month.

A new P-pop group is making noise even before its official debut. INBITUIN, composed of Ford, Luna, Miggy, and Zor—best known for placing fifth on the global survival show “Be the Next: 9 Dreamers”—is being introduced this Pride Month with a bold claim: the country’s first genderless P-pop group.

The timing has drawn attention from fans and LGBTQIA+ supporters, with many praising the group for challenging traditional labels and gender expectations in pop culture.

However, the concept has also sparked debate online. Some netizens questioned whether the group’s image reflects its branding, with one commenter saying, “Love the concept, pero hindi naman sila super androgynous. Make them more feminine if they really want to posture as a genderless group.”

Others were quick to push back, arguing that genderlessness is not defined by femininity or appearance. “More feminine doesn’t mean genderless. It’s just them not being confined into binary roles or categories. They can be bulky and very masc-presenting and still be genderless,” another fan wrote.

Whether celebrated or scrutinized, INBITUIN’s arrival during Pride Month has already started conversations about gender expression, representation, and what a new era of P-pop could look like.
