The actor expresses heartbreak but says he respects daughter Claudia’s decision.
Actor-comedian Dennis Padilla could not help but express sadness over his daughter Claudia Barretto’s decision to legally drop the surname “Baldivia” from her name.
On Instagram, Dennis shared a copy of the court petition, showing that Claudia has officially filed to remove the Baldivia surname from her legal name.
“Kung ang lungkot ko ay kasiyahan mo, anak… hindi magbabago ang pagmamahal ko sa’yo Claudia,” he captioned, ending his post with the word “Papa.”
Dennis also expressed his love for his daughter, adding, “Love you, Claui. I respect your decision. Malungkot lang talaga,” he shared.
It can be recalled that in 2015, Dennis’ other daughter Julia Barretto also filed a similar petition to legally drop the Baldivia surname. Baldivia is Dennis’ real surname, while Barretto is the surname of Julia’s mother, Marjorie.
The former couple has three children: Julia, Claudia, and Leon. Marjorie also has two other children, Dani with former actor Kier Legaspi, and Erich with politician Recom Echiverri.
