The race where shopping carts matter as much as running shoes is making a comeback.

Puregold has officially opened registration for the latest edition of its crowd-favorite Hakot Relay, bringing the unique grocery-themed competition back for two major legs in Southern Luzon and Metro Manila.

Dubbed by many participants as the country’s most rewarding relay race, the event combines physical endurance, teamwork, and strategic grocery shopping, with teams competing for the chance to bring home carts loaded with prizes and groceries.

Registration opens on June 27 and is exclusive to Aling Puring and Perks members. To qualify, each team must present a single-receipt purchase worth at least ₱3,500 from participating Puregold stores.

The first leg, Hakot Relay Southern Luzon, will take place on September 19 at the Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus City, Cavite. Participating stores include Puregold Biñan (Pavillion), Putatan, San Vicente (Pacita), Anabu (Imus), and Lipa.

Meanwhile, Hakot Relay Manila is scheduled for December 5 at Burnham Green in Luneta. Participants may register through purchases made at Puregold Cubao, Paco, Qi Central, Taytay, Tayuman, and Parañaque.

“Ready, takbo, hakot!” Puregold declared in its promotional campaign, teasing the return of the event’s signature “paldo moments” that previously generated viral social media content and enthusiastic participation from shoppers.

Teams must present their qualifying receipt at designated registration booths to secure a slot. Organizers noted that registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will run only while slots remain available.

The Hakot Relay has become one of Puregold’s most anticipated experiential events, turning a routine grocery run into a high-energy competition that celebrates teamwork, fitness, and smart shopping.

With registration just days away, shoppers are already preparing their teams, shopping lists, and game plans for another chance to run, race, and literally haul home prizes.

For many loyal Puregold customers, the challenge is simple: shop, sprint, and hakot.
