One straight creator, Ron Bulado Jr., shared photos of his Pride attendance in Cebu.
Recent queerbaiting discussions have resurfaced online following the culmination of Pride Marches across the Philippines.
On Threads, LGBTQIA+ media trailblazer IC Mendoza questioned the visibility —even online — of personalities who impersonate gay stereotypes for content. “Wala man lang pag‑bati ng Happy Pride sa mga creators na nagbabakla‑baklaan for their content? Char. ” Mendoza wrote.
Similar calls echoed across other social media platforms. Users expressed frustration over the absence of content creators Abdul & Marsyyy, Johnmark Gon, and Malupiton at such events. These creators had previously faced scrutiny for their content, raising questions about whether straight men can commercialize queer aesthetics.
On Facebook, Abdul and Marsyyy posted twice in support of the community: one featured a social advocacy video in partnership with PANTAY in May 2025, while another was an acknowledgment speech at Pampanga’s Taste Fest 2026.
Meanwhile, Johnmark Gon responded differently. After receiving a direct message criticizing his absence, he shared a photo of his donation to a Pride event with the message: “Good luck sa event and Happy Pride Month! .” The gesture was revealed through a comment under Mendoza’s thread, as Gon did not publicly share it himself and has not confirmed its authenticity.
Another comment on Mendoza’s post gained traction after revealing that Ron Bulado Jr., one of the Å “gay impersonators,” attended Cebu’s local Pride March, earning praise.
Bulado, a content creator based in Cebu, was credited with starting the “masculine‑to‑feminine transition” trend that Johnmark Gon later replicated.
He later posted on Facebook with the caption: “Happy Cebu Grand Pride Parade
enjoy and take care everyone
.” Though openly heterosexual, Bulado has consistently voiced solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community.
As early as May 2026, Bulado had already expressed his intention to join the march. In a Facebook post, he wrote: “Gusto ko ring sabihin na solid ally ako ng LGBTQ+ community. Sobrang laki ng respeto ko sa kanila kaya asahan niyo na makikibahagi rin ako sa Pride Parade ngayong June. Hindi ito para maki‑agaw ng eksena, kundi para ipakita na kahit straight ako, suportado ko ang pagkakapantay‑pantay at ang galing ng bawat isa. Naniniwala ako na ang creativity ay walang pinipiling kasarian.”
