House blessing or clout chasing?
An alleged house blessing held inside an Airbnb rental has sparked mixed reactions online, with some finding the incident amusing and others viewing it as a reflection of the pressure to appear successful.
In a July 1 Facebook post, digital creator Badette Dulay Galo claimed the guest presented the house as her own and organized a blessing—complete with catering, invited guests, and a priest. Photos shared by Galo appear to show the ceremony taking place inside the property.
The claims have not been independently verified, and neither the property’s owner nor the woman involved has publicly commented as of writing.
The unusual setup quickly caught the attention of social media users. Many of them questioned why a ceremony—traditionally associated with moving into a newly owned home—would be held inside what was allegedly a short-term rental.
Others responded with humor. “Hala salamat sa idea. Pangarap ko rin kasi magpa-house blessing ket wala pa kong house 😂,” a commenter said.
A commenter who claims to be a pastor said house blessings may also be held by non-owners, provided the arrangement has been properly coordinated with the property’s owner.
Others, meanwhile, viewed the incident as a reflection of social pressure to project success online: “Minsan, pressure ang pinakamahirap kalaban.”
As of writing, there has been no public statement from either the property’s owner or the alleged Airbnb guest involved.
