MTRCB flags violence, EJK themes in Law Fajardo’s suspense film starring Lotlot de Leon, Ina Feleo, Nico Antonio.
“Silenced Nights,” the upcoming suspense film by director Law Fajardo, has been given an R-16 rating by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ahead of its nationwide release on September 16.
The film, which carries the tagline “Where fear prevails, justice is silenced,” tackles heavy themes including extrajudicial killings (EJKs), alongside scenes depicting violence, language, and drug use deemed unsuitable for viewers below 16.
Leading the ensemble cast are Lotlot de Leon, Ina Feleo, and Nico Antonio, joined by Tanya Gomez, Joel Saracho, Dylan Ray Talon, Mario Magallona, Rom Factolerin, Aquisha Tombiga, and Jorrybell Agoto.
Written by Troy Espiritu and produced by Patricia Sumagui and Ferdy Lapuz, “Silenced Nights” is a collaboration between Quantum Films, House on Fire International (Taiwan), and House on Fire (France).
MTRCB Chair Lala Sotto reminded parents and guardians to guide younger viewers in choosing age-appropriate content, emphasizing responsible viewing and open discussions about complex issues portrayed on screen.
