Neither the actress or Wishbone Collective has officially confirmed her casting.
Actress-singer Kim Molina has once again fueled excitement among theater fans after sharing a heartfelt social media post about missing the stage, just as speculation continues that she will reprise the title role in Zsazsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal for its 20th-anniversary staging in 2027.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Molina wrote, “With all this hype, bigla ko lang naisip.. I miss the Theater. I miss home. Sa teatro kasi pagkatapos ng show, nakikita ko agad kayo at personal na nakakapagpasalamat. When that happens again, hopefully I get to see most of you.. sana.”
The post quickly caught the attention of fans, many of whom interpreted it as another sign that the award-winning performer is preparing for a return to the stage after several years focused on television, film, and live concerts.
The timing is particularly notable as Molina has been widely rumored to reprise her acclaimed portrayal of the flamboyant superheroine Zsazsa Zaturnnah in Wishbone Collective’s 20th-anniversary production of Zsazsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal, scheduled to run in April and May 2027.
While neither Molina nor Wishbone Collective has officially confirmed her casting, theater circles have been buzzing for weeks following her reunion with members of the musical’s creative team. The speculation has only intensified since Wishbone Collective announced the anniversary staging of the beloved Filipino musical based on Carlo Vergara’s iconic graphic novel.
Molina is no stranger to the role. She headlined the 2023 Ateneo Blue Repertory production of Zsazsa Zaturnnah The Musical… ’Yun Lang!, earning praise for her powerhouse vocals, comic timing, and energetic portrayal of the camp superheroine.
Long before becoming a mainstream television and movie star, Molina established herself as one of Philippine theater’s most celebrated leading ladies. She rose to prominence through PETA’s hit musical Rak of Aegis, where her performance as Aileen earned her a Gawad Buhay Award for Best Actress in a Musical. She has also appeared in productions such as Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady, Manhid: The Superhero Musical, Ghost The Musical, Carrie, and Disney’s Tarzan.
For many fans, Molina’s latest post resonated because it reflected what many theater actors often describe as unique to live performance—the opportunity to meet audiences face-to-face after every show.
Whether the message was simply a nostalgic reflection or a subtle hint of what lies ahead remains unclear. But for theater fans hoping to see Kim Molina transform once more into Zsazsa Zaturnnah, her declaration that she misses “home” has only heightened anticipation over the long-rumored return of one of Philippine musical theater’s most beloved heroines.
