Ian Veneracion and John Arcilla lead the hard-hitting drama revisiting the Duterte-era campaign.
Rein Entertainment and KC Global Media Entertainment are set to premiere the six-part socio-political limited series “Drug War: A Conspiracy of Silence” on YouTube beginning July 30, bringing one of the Philippines’ most controversial chapters to a global audience.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shugo Praico, the series stars Ian Veneracion, Jane Oineza, Harvey Bautista, and John Arcilla. Inspired by true events during the height of the Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign from 2016 to 2017, the story follows a priest and a guilt-ridden police officer investigating the death of a young drug war victim.

Praico said the series is not meant to dictate what viewers should believe, but to encourage reflection.
“The Philippine drug war is one of the defining chapters of our recent history. As a storyteller, I believe our responsibility is not simply to revisit history, but to confront it by asking how we got here. And, more importantly, where we are headed.”
He added that the project aims to explore “competing truths, conflicting perspectives, and uncomfortable questions,” emphasizing that the story is ultimately about “people, families torn apart, communities transformed, and lives forever changed,” rather than simply politics or crime.
New episodes will be released weekly on Rein Entertainment’s official YouTube channel.
