Jairus Aquino, Nicole Omillo step in as new ‘University’ love team for series’ final chapter

During the launch, Jairus admitted that the pressure of leading the final chapter of the series only truly sank in after seeing the overwhelming support from fans and the cast members who came before them.

“Honestly, mas naramdaman ko iyong pressure now, and, I guess, we will use that pressure to give the audience a very good series. I am so happy andito kami ngayon, doing the last and final book, which, for us, is the heaviest book,” Jairus shared.

Nicole echoed the same excitement, saying that while portraying Kierra is intimidating, it is also a rewarding opportunity to bring the emotional story to life.

“Nakakakaba po. We’ve been doing it for a few years now, but it’s an honor to be able to do this and to tell Kierra and Shan’s story is a blessing. It may be painful but sobrang nakakatuwa because we get to portray thes characters that go through these things, so a lot of people can relate and connect. Nakaka-kaba but excited,” Nicole said.

Showing their support during the launch were the stars of the previous University adaptations, including Marco Gallo and Heaven Peralejo of “The Rain in España,” Krisha Viaje and Jerome Ponce of “Safe Skies Archer,” Wilbert Ross and Bea Binene of “Golden Scenery of Tomorrow,” and Aubrey Caraan and Lance Carr of “Avenues of Diamond.”

Also joining the celebration were Gab Lagman, Hyacinth Callado, and Francis Magundayao, who welcomed Jairus and Nicole as the newest faces of the franchise.

Directed by Gino Santos, “Our Yesterday’s Escape” serves as the concluding chapter of the University series and will soon premiere exclusively on the Viva One app.
