Exports jump 24.1% as electronics drive growth and first-half shipments reach record levels.
Demand for Philippine-made goods continued to strengthen in June as the country’s exports climbed to a record $8.77 billion, up 24.1% from $7.07 billion a year earlier.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said the figure marks the country’s highest monthly export value since its data series began in 1991. Exports in the first six months of 2026 also reached a record $46.72 billion, up 13.1% from the same period last year, giving manufacturers and exporters a strong first half despite an uncertain global economy.
Electronics remained the country’s biggest export, contributing $5.25 billion, or 59.9% of total export receipts. The United States was the Philippines’ largest export market in June at $1.76 billion, followed by Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Singapore.
Strong export sales can support factory production, jobs, and business income, while bringing more foreign currency into the country. The country, however, continued to post a trade deficit as imports remained higher than exports.
