Dustin Yu, Bianca de Vera take on new big-screen love story

For Dustin, the film is especially meaningful because of his long-time admiration for the director’s work.

“Sobrang excited ako. Noong na-pitch pa lang ito sa amin, hindi na ako makatulog kakaisip kung paano ko gagawin. Kasi growing up, pinapanood ko na ang mga gawa ni Direk Jason, iyong ‘100 Tula,’ sobrang favorite ko,” Dustin shared.

He also revealed that he immediately reached out to Laxamana after learning about the project, eager to take on a new chapter in his career alongside Bianca.

“Sobrang excited ako na magawa namin ’tong pelikula,” he added.

Bianca, meanwhile, described the film as a milestone, marking her first project with Regal Entertainment and the first time she and Dustin will solely carry a movie as leads.

“Super excited every time naman na may gagawin na bagong project. I’m always very excited, but this time it’s different because it’s going to be my first na kami, and first with Regal Entertainment,” Bianca said.

She also praised the script, revealing she finished it in one sitting.

“Sobrang ganda ng pagkakasulat. Talagang makikita mo na ang klaro ng vision ni Direk JP. Sabi ko nga, ang daming makaka-relate dito, [maraming] matatawa and maiiyak,” she shared.

For Laxamana, the film will showcase a different side of the pair, moving beyond the youthful, “pa-cute” image often associated with them.

“Feeling ko, next level ’to sa acting nila and medyo kakaibang DustBia ang makikita natin dito, hindi pa-cute lang. So I’m excited to be part of their journey,” he said.

The project was announced shortly after the tandem’s sold-out DustBia Love Actually fan day at New Frontier Theater, underscoring their strong and growing fanbase.

Production is set to begin in the second week of August, with the film eyed for release in 2026.
