The Pop Rock Royalty revisits her biggest romantic what-if during her live concert performance.

What if Ryan Bang had simply replied?

Yeng Constantino recently revisited her 2010 “what if” with Ryan Bang during her concert, revealing that the budding romance ended after Ryan allegedly stopped responding despite her having a serious crush on him.

“Sineen zone niya ’ko. ‘Diba Ryan? Crush na crush kita no’n,” Yeng said, recalling how she would even tell Ryan to visit her restaurant because she would take care of him. “Kahit pumunta ka lang sa restaurant, ako na bahala kasi crush na crush kita e.”

Ryan had courted Yeng by bringing her coffee and going to church with her, but eventually stopped pursuing her because he thought she was not interested. Yeng, however, never actually rejected him, a misunderstanding they finally unpacked on “It’s Showtime” in 2022.

“Sobrang thank you na hinilaw mo rin ang storya natin… Na nagustuhan mo rin pala ako but it was not the right time. Ryan, I love you, my friend!” Yeng told him.

Their story continues to fascinate netizens because it was not a case of unrequited love, but two people apparently liking each other and failing to communicate.

“The Ryan Bang–Yeng Constantino story tells us that sometimes the biggest love story is just two people liking each other at the same time but still ending up as each other’s biggest ‘what if.’”

Another comment pointed to Ryan’s struggles at the time, “Baka nahihiya si Ryan Bang back then… kasi hindi siya financially stable, hindi dahil sa torpe lang.”

That sparked a more uncomfortable observation, “Tayo na mismo nagsasabi ‘diba? Never date someone if hindi ka pa financially stable… and yet daming nanghihinayang.”

“But if normal na tao we’re quick to crucify them… Na dapat final version na yung io-offer mo agad sa partner mo,” one netizen wrote.

Today, the two have taken completely different paths. Yeng is married to musician and worship director Victor “Yan” Asuncion, while Ryan is now single after confirming his breakup with former fiancée Paola Huyong in June 2026. Ryan said cultural differences contributed to their separation and denied that cheating was involved.

Perhaps the real tragedy was never that Yeng and Ryan did not end up together. It was that they liked each other, and neither knew it in time.
